This week we are making a low-tech wearable that collects, visualizes, or represents data. Because we can’t use anything that needs to be powered by a battery, it took me a while to land on an idea. I took a look at the materials I have on hand and I realized that I could use bubble wraps to make a device that tracks the user’s anxiety level.
I cut out several strips of bubble wraps and folded them to make a thick and nicer-looking strap. For the main part, I folded a sheet of bubble wrap onto itself several times.
Here’s the finished product:
I thought that this device could offer a way to visualize anxiety levels and serve as a decent tool for reflection.
